Was never much of a fan of CTF. I kinda hate relying on my team mates doing well to win, I get too frustrated if there are idiots on the team :p Strangely I loved playing ONS though, I don't even want to know how many hours I spent on ONS-Torlan during the beta.

But mostly I'm a DM guy, I like being super aggressive so mods like TAM doesn't work for me, I get really annoyed at having to wait to the end of the round to get back into the game. A good run on DM-Deck17 where things are clicking is very enjoyable to me :)

Oh yeah! :-D DM-Deck 17 is another great map !!! Memory lane :-)

When I lived in London I had a 'computer room' (a spare small bedroom) with 4 pcs on a Lan. We used to pad out the games with different levels of bots just to make it more interesting. We played loads of strategy too, Warcraft, StarCraft (huge amounts of time spent on that) warzone2100 and then TA being absolute favs. Age of Empires later and other RTS. We mostly always played co-op against various AI with those. Huge fun!

Always had take-away curries or pizzas for a change and loads of beer which made for some very memorable weekend sessions! :-)

Nowadays direct Lan gaming seems to have died a death. It's daft to have to connect to the internet to play someone sat in the same room.

On that note: Just got out of a game of ut2k4... First one went ok, won that one. Second one... not so much, 4th from last, ugh. I played on a server I never play on and they didn't have utcomp, it really throws me off.

... we grab our gaming rigs and bestow the great honor on one of us to be the host for the weekend's lan party. Since Steam and it's dreaded gaming sales, every one of us sports an impressive array of games that we do exploit greatly on this occasion. But there are also the classics, always the classics.

I'm just surprised that Stefan has 'Ian' parties. I mean Ian's a great guy and all, but it seems a bit sudden, a bit... much. Maybe it's the whole 3-women-at-once thing that has cemented his mythical status....

    Hahaha! good one.

I have used the Oculus Rift once, it was really amazing.

I only played one map with a house in a garden and you could walk around and up and down the stairs.

I am super excited to see what this new technology will bring. A little while ago I read that they were also developing some kind of bowl where you could walk around in for the true shooter experience, however I have doubts that will catch on. Just as with the wii (and the fact most games were super-lame) I think most people just like to chill out and play games, and not do exercise.

I never played games on my pc but I did have a Nintendo 64 as a kid.

Men, did I play the hell out of Mario Kart, Perfect Dark and later on TimeSplitters.

I did also play wolfenstein.. .. stupid dogs!

Yeah the dogs were annoying. The thing i like with Wolfenstein was to see my face (the character's face) degrading as he was getting hurt

Didn't try this but it seems to be playable in a browser version:

Never touched that game. Not much of an RTS player. I do enjoy the campaigns in StarCraft/StarCraftII though and I watch all the major tournaments.

That would be Tuscany, it's the demo that comes with the SDK and it's the demo most people see the first time.

The bowl you're thinking about is probably the Virtuix Omni. And yeah, I don't see myself buying that one anytime soon...

in my opinion, it is worth the money.

I have used a macbook pro for close to 7 years, didn't crash once.

And for some reason I never really felt like I understood windows..

You'd need to find someone with some expensive dishes...

But do you really need the top model? You should max out the RAM (always!) but other than that... If you can live with 256GB SSD, then you'd have to wash fewer dishes :)

Pfff... PC Master Race ftw ;) Especially if the Rift interests you at all you should definitely go for a proper PC built for gaming since it'll need every last ounce of power you can give it.

@Sander: I hope some of the Mac love reaches Daid too. He seems to have a rather cold relationship with Mac OSX...

Ohh, the flame war starts to shape nicely.

@Robert: Have you looked at the Macbook Pro's specs lately? This is a monster machine. No need for a punny PC made of non matching pieces...

Not interested in such flame wars, they bore me :) But you'll never convince me that a laptop with mobile GFX cards will ever outperform a full size PC or Mac with a proper card, it's just not possible. And the pieces in my PC match each other quite nicely thank you very much :)

Just kidding, don't take this seriously. I do not imply that the Mac is superior hardware wise. It is just the complete package that's better than a PC.

I do also have a gamping pc and I am very glad that I can swap pieces out when I want to upgrade. But I have to use Windows and this sucks. But that's ok for starting games.

I have a PC box at home too, with a 2GB gaming card it in... but alas, that`s dead too haha. Motherboard gone I think and I cannot be bothered to fix it.

The top MacBook has a dedicated graphics card :)

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
