UM3 - OLED Screen often fails at different levels

Hi everyone,

Thanks for being on the forum, for making this comunity and products and for your precious time. I'm a new student in a design school, and recently, i have decided to help everyone with repairing our fablab, but the main reason is to learn how the printers are designed, what makes them reliable and durable and to know how to manage a fab. (maybe a job opportunity later). Due to the intensive use of the students that sometimes not cares too much about the process, this case is very intresting to see where it looses their strenght. So let's jump to the first topic !

I noticed one thing that remains about the OLED screen used on the UM3's and UM2. There are both the same model but in a different color (blue, white). Whenn used a long time, the screens shows weaknesses, like having lines on the sceeen, not having backlight anymore, having a long state image persist on it...

I would like to know if you already experienced that and if you think its the fault of the ulticontroller or the display itself. On the first printer, i replaced the dim defective one by the um2 i teared down, and it works.  Thinks that's the display's fault.

Here's the onsite pics on my personal printer's one.

Thanks for your Knowledge.
