UM3 firmware - Change the startup logo by another one & Setting a custom progress bar

Hi everyone,

Thanks for being on the forum, for making this comunity and products and for your precious time. I'm a new student in a design school, and recently, i have decided to help everyone with repairing our fablab.

With over 100+ per week students coming in the lab, we often get confused by wondering who is printing on a certain printer cause we have to call the responsible person like (ehh, hi dude, your print failed and you just made some spaghetti/clogged the nose, can i print my project ? I'm already late for my final !!).

So i wanted to know if it was possible to tweak the firmware (i think it's opensource) to display who the prints belongs to. I was thinking (when you slice your print, cura asks for your name and save it into the file). Main question : Could this be a cura plugin or a mix of tweaking the firmware and cura ?  Second one : Is it possible to change the boot logo + add one when it prints by our school's one ?

Thanks a lot,

Victor, France

This is what UltiMaker Digital Factory is for - https://support.ultimaker.com/s/article/1667337895701
Though it only supports UM3/UM3 Extended and newer.

This means Ultimaker Original (wood), Ultimaker 2/2 Extended, 2 Go, and Ultimaker 2+/2+ Extended are not supported.
Newer UltiMaker 2+ Connect is however.
