Posted · stuff below build plate can it be deleted

I want to be able to use the part above the build plate and mod that bit but the part below the build plate does not go away is their any way to delete the bit under the build plate?

when I rotate the item back around the stuff below the build plate is still attached Arrrrrrrrr

    Don't really need to post this in your other thread and in its own thread.

    Anything underneath the build plate will be completely ignored when you slice the model.

    @Nomad6666 Cura is not a CAD program or a program to alter model files.  It just takes the model you give it and slices it for printing.  If you need the model to be different you need to alter the model before it gets to Cura.

    MeshMixer, Blender, MS 3D Builder are some software that can do that.

     

    Although you can "hide" part of a model, or change the way a model slices by using "Mesh Modifiers", you cannot actually change a model in Cura.

    There is a plugin called "Banana Split" that you may find useful but it doesn't actually split the model, it just takes the part the is below the build plate and also shows that part above the build plate so it to can be sliced.
