Posted · Cookie Cutter Edge Not Printing Correctly

I am creating a cookie cutter and the edge or the blade of the cutter has a gap.  Almost like it printed two distinct blades that are not molded together.  In researching I believe my settings in Cura may be my issue.  In researching @MariMakes was a big help to someone else with a similar issue.  Hoping I can find help as well.

Looking at it in Preview mode we can see that it is, in fact, two walls:

However these walls should be adhering to each other well enough to not come apart.

    A few thoughts:

    • What kind of material are you using? I've found that plain old PLA works at 200° but the PLA+ I usually buy does better at 210°. Even if you're using regular old PLA it probably wouldn't hurt to knock the temperature up, melts the plastic more which hopefully makes it adhere better.
    • Is your printer properly calibrated? Are the belts and such at the appropriate tension, and have you calibrated the E steps to make sure you're extruding the correct amount?
    • Try increasing Material > Flow > Wall Flow. Nothing too extreme, maybe 105%, 110% tops (but don't go straight to that). If you're underextruding at all this will increase the amount of filament that comes out giving it a better chance to spread properly and adhere to the wall next to it.
