Posted · Need help with basic features of Cura

Hi everybody! I just started with Cura and I need help to start using it as I can't find this information anywhere 😞

I print decorative models - single or multi-color. The most of models have a set of STL files, usually a common base and different sets of the decorative elements. If I print on FlashForge (Creator 3, for example), the slicer (FlashPrint) asks if I want to keep the original position of the detail (stl file) or would like to place it on the platform automatically. I always keep the position and move the assembled model on the platform just before slicing. With Bambu Studio the same thing works a bit differently - I just confirm that all stl's are the parts of the same model and the slicer keeps all details in the original place...

I need to do the same for the same models (set of stl-files) in Cura

Please help me how to do that, because Cura places all parts into the platform and it is impossible to re-align all pieces back the same way as it was made in the CAD software...

Selecting all the models and "merging" them will put them in their original relative position to eachother. They will also be grouped, but you can select a single model within the group (eg to change the extruder to print that model with) by control+clicking the model within the group.
