Fuzzy on the outside. Only!

Hey y'all.  I want to give fuzzy skin a try on this tissue box but can't get CURA to add Fuzzy Skin outside only to the entire outside of the box.

Picts allow you to see between the choice of Fuzzy Skin outside only, and the default all.  Models are slightly taller as you will see in the .3mf files but you can see where the outside only choice stops part way up the sides.

For time (as if retired ppl don't have time) I'd love to have the fuzz on the outside only but if this is not possible, I'm OK with all.

Thanks in advance, PDC

The model has errors and when Cura tries to figure out where the "outside" ends and the "inside" begins it gets confused.  The errors seem to be related to the hollow corners.  I tried fixing it in MS 3D Builder and although the repaired model slices different, it's still wrong.

It looks like the walls are 1mm thick but at the midpoint of the outside corner it's only .68mm.  That coupled with the fuzzy skin variance of 0.3 drops the area below a line width and so Cura sees gaps there.

Here you can see right into the corner void.  When that starts, fuzzy stops.

If you make those corners solid the problem should go away.

Here is one I just scribbled up.  No problem with the fuzzy skin on the outside only.

You so rock. I work on solid corners. One of these days I'll spend more time looking to see what the heck before crying to you guys.

BTW,  what in particular did you do to fix it? I'm good at slogging through but what the heck, never too shy to ask.  TYVM, PDC

I only ask since I can't read your screen. My screen resolution is too low for this old guy to see.

Sorry about that and TY for the help.

OK, I'm slow. I see you made the corners solid...just like you said.

The corners hold weights so that a no-go however, I will make the outer walls thicker from CAD and see how it rolls.

    TY
