Flat multicolour print from a single extruder!

Important disclaimer first: Don't try this at home unless you really know what you're doing. It could potentially damage your printer. Some printers may not be able to pull off this trick in the first place. As such I'm not explaining my process. If you really know what you're doing, you can probably figure it out.

Yes, it still needs work. But hey!

And by "still needs work" I mean the process in general, not just removing strings from this one.

And lest anyone doubt its flat-ness, let's have a look at the side, courtesy of my love of macro lenses:

The main problem (other than those strings, obviously I need to work on my retraction) is that the colours aren't quite in line (especially the black) which creates some raised edges. But most of the way there! 😁

which printer? And am I correct in there being some magic to acheive one change per color with black as the last color?

    • If I say what printer it'll just encourage other people with that printer to try this. But since I've said what printer I have in five hundred other posts already, Ender-3 V3 SE.
    • One change per colour. Six changes total, since the base is that dark green which doesn't appear on top.
    • Black is not the last colour.

The more observant or less impatient to be excited will note the white strings over the black and go "duh...". Granted there are some black over the white too. Either way, this is quite impressive! Well done!

    •  White is the first colour.
