Deaktivating USB is the solution for me too!
But why is this so???

USB printing is deprecated and no longer supported. I don't know if the plugin is even getting any updates these days, unless there's a security issue. It's a leftover from the days when printers weren't even smart enough to read a memory card and it's a bad idea to print over USB from your main PC anyway.
This isn't the only problem that can be fixed by disabling the USB Printing plugin, either. I'd submit a feature request saying "disable it by default" but then the forums would be flooded by people asking what happened to the USB printing.
I have been working on the FreeBSD port. It is also, at the moment, refusing to load STL files. I do not see any plugin for USB. In fact, I emptied out the plugin's directory and the inability to load STL continues.
Help?

It's one of the plugins that's built into Cura (almost all of Cura is plugins built on top of the underlying Uranium framework). If you click the cog icon at the top right of the Marketplace window the built in ones should be there. They're also buried somewhere in Cura's files (I think it's <cura main directory>\share\cura\plugins\ but I'm currently computer deprived so can't check)
In your screenshot, the USB Printing plugin is not disabled. You have to restart Cura after pressing the Disable button.

They haven't even clicked the Disable button, when you do it turns into an Enable button and you get a banner saying you need to restart Cura for the change to take effect:
I said I posted that image to show where the gear cog was (need more visual instructions.) and what to look for. It did not say I did disabled it in that post.
so now I did disabled it, rebooted , then uninstalled cura deleted /.local/share/cura and reinstalled. still an issue.
finally I wiped my Linux and reinstalled Linux Mint 22 and Cura it and now it works, I then after I tried it I disabled USB printing just in case. But it did work before I disabled USB. I uploaded most recent log, for the record, can see when I ran it when USB enabled then after USB disabled.
here it is after I disabled it.

I'm sort of worried about the concept of anyone who couldn't follow my instructions:

owning a 3D printer. True, I didn't say the button to open the Marketplace was at the top right of the main Cura window, but I have the unrealistic expectation of people actually looking at the interface of programs (it being unrealistic being borne out by my mum and her friends, whom I always have to "fix" problems for by pointing at the icon to do whatever they wanted to do).
Yes, disabling USB Printing fixes this on Cura 5.9 running on Ubuntu 24.04
