The pretty dots do make a nice "highlighted area" if you ask me.
Options for fixing:
Microsoft 3D Builder (Windows only): Actually really great. You just need to open a model and it comes up with a thing at the bottom right offering to fix it. Came preinstalled with Windows 10; don't think so with Windows 11 and I'm not sure if it's still in the Microsoft Store (but search and you should be able to find instructions to get it)
Meshmixer (Windows only): A free program by Autodesk which hasn't been updated in about a decade but still does what it does well.
MeshLab: Getting into more advanced territory here. It can do about a thousand different things with models but not made for people who don't know what "Repair non Manifold Edges" means.
FreeCAD: Not so full on with the proper jargon. Pretty steep learning curve to do a lot of things though.
Online STL repair: Just search the web for "online STL repair" and there's at least a couple of good ones out there.

In the Cura 5.8 stable release, everyone can now tune their Z seams to look better than ever. Method series users get access to new material profiles, and the base Method model now has a printer profile, meaning the whole Method series is now supported in Cura!
We are happy to announce the next evolution in the UltiMaker 3D printer lineup: the UltiMaker Factor 4 industrial-grade 3D printer, designed to take manufacturing to new levels of efficiency and reliability. Factor 4 is an end-to-end 3D printing solution for light industrial applications

It's not like Cura doesn't try and warn you:
