S series Dual Extrusion Nozzle X Offset

Recommended Posts

Posted · S series Dual Extrusion Nozzle X Offset

I have an UMS3. When using dual extrusion, I notice that the Gcode generated for this printer requires the X Offset (22mm) for the second extruder to be accounted for in the head movement commands in the Gcode.

Is it possible to tweak a setting in the printer so that this offset correction is made by the printer itself? i.e. so that I can send Gcode without the offset? I'm surprised that this is not already the case, as the value is known and fixed.

I am comfortable with SSH, Linux etc. and poking around in config files & scripts, but need to know where to look.

    Hi,

the procedure you described (using Gcode for print core offset) surprised me, as it's absolutely unusual. The offset for x and y is stored in the printer for EVERY print core pair you use, after running through the print core calibration procedure in your systems menu.

If your printer is newly delivered from factory, this calibration is already done for the AA/AA - AA/BB combination included to the printer. If a new print core is added, calibration has to be done.

    Regards
