Initial Layer Travel Speed goes down while overall speed is configured to be higher

It seems like a bug to me.

For instance, when I set the "print speed" to 10 mm/s, CURA (5.8.1) automatically adjusts all other speed settings. In this case, the Initial Layer Travel Speed is set to 60 mm/s, which can only be viewed in expert mode or the "ALL" setting. When I tried to configure the print speed to 100 mm/s, I noticed that CURA reduced the Initial Layer Travel Speed to 6 mm/s. If I set the speed to 1000 mm/s, the Initial Layer Travel Speed drops to 0.6 mm/s.

So, doesn’t this seem like a bug?

I'm not even getting it to change the initial layer speed to change when I change Speed > Print Speed. But what you're getting definitely sounds like a bug - here's the bug report form. Make sure to include screenshots.

    Thanks for your reply

I didn’t quite understood what you meant by “not even getting it to change the initial layer speed to change” but it’s being changed automatically when you change speed ->print speed.
Nevertheless, I read lots of posts on bugs that are not being fixed (like the one when choosing material ->generic ->PETG and CURA sets the nozzle temperature to 215…)

so I don’t know if I’ll open the ticket 🙂

    thanks.

I meant for me the settings are entirely separate. It won't automatically change. Although that does give me an idea: what printer are you using? The quality profiles are different for different printers and yours might have the two linked, meaning I could go in and have a look at it and see if I can spot the problem.

Your bug being on the big "to be fixed" pile gives it a much higher chance of being fixed than it not being there. The developers don't usually read the forums so they're not going to find out about it on their own.
