How many hours did you put into that project. Must have been a few.

I really have no idea, from time to time, i find it hard sleeping.... ;)

a rough estimate is about 100 design hours and 60-70 print hours.

You cant upload video to this forum?

    @DidierKlein: Thanks mate :)

@targeter: Wow that looks insane. Very impressive. How did you go about designing somthing like that, what software did you use?

As promised here are some close up's. sorry about the quality, they were taken on my phone.

This is engineering as a pure art form. If we do not see a comprehensive video of this glorious beauty in action we will nag, whine, stamp our feet and demand to see one until you oblige us!

Was that printed in one piece? It's even more amazing in close-up.

A small project that pales in comparison to the great work that was recently posted...

Two gifts for the wedding of a friend of mine. They asked for money for new tableware... but yeah who gives that when you can 3D print. I stole the logo from their invitations, and due to some issues with the 3D printer a lot of putty was involved in achieving the final finish (which still has some 'personality').

Geeks will recognize the M98-Widow sniper rifle from Mass Effect. It's will be available at MyMinifactory probably at the end of the month (i haven't uploaded it yet).

I'm currently working on a short time lapse video that will show you the entire process of the making of that prop (from CAD to painting and final assembly).

Keep spreading the love of 3D printing!

    AWesome!

I really love mass effect props( and characters)!

btw, a new mass effect gaem has set to be released 2016, and i know some guys from the forums still play ME3 sometimes (including me (LennieB/CH-Lichthammer) also https://ultimaker.com/en/community/view/9424-join-the-ultimaker-steam-group)

We're still waiting for a video of this masterpiece!

It's very obvious you are a perfectionist, but please, just turn the crank and hold a smartphone next to it, just as a teaser!

Printed with PLA. Size of the holes was not perfect, so I had to drill each hole one size bigger. Now everything fits perfect ;)

Nothing fancy compared to what some of you are doing, but these are some models I have been printing out for my company.  These are 1:12 scale models of shoring scaffold towers and formwork deck panels.  We are in the construction business, and are using these models for training.

All the pieces are PLA, glued together, except for the wooden tops which are cut from strips of balsa wood to simulate real plywood.  One of these days I'd like to experiment with the "laywood" or other simulated-wood filaments for printing models of plywood sheets, but for now, balsa does the job.

Hi Guys, long time no post. Really amazing things printed in the meantime!

A little sneak peak of my latest Fusion 360 design result, my own version of the EggBot Pro from the evil mad scientist labs (props to the engineers there!).

I like that little machine so much, I just had to create one by myself. From pictures online and some videos I "copied" the machine. I then added custom electronics, motors, screws etc. as you can see and vioila, a fully functioning eggbot. By the way, the white cups for the egg / pingpong ball are printed with Ninjaflex.

The whole construction probalby takes about 24 h - 32 h to print and countless hours of testing and tweaking etc.

The construct is less stable than I imagined. even printing everything at 50% infill and 3 shells. But it does the job quite nicely.

The software that runs on the arduino is EggDuino by cocktailyogi (thingiverse). Really cool, emulates beeing an EggBot so you can directly print from inkscape....

I try to post more in the coming days (also on youmagine) IF I get the ok from guys at evil mad scientist. BTW: The custom arduino is connected to the computer via bluetooth module (HC-05)... I just thought an upgrade to the standard USB / Serial would be cool.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
