Nice :) Layer height .5 on a .8 nozzle and still 92 hours of print... omg :)

Have to say that my .8 nozzle if fast becoming my favorite one :)

Edit: Remember my Ulti-bot army?

They lost the war... All 50 of them were crushed by giants in less than 5 minutes. Even the special ones with red and black clothing that were built on site!

hahaha better not to be involved with soldiers  Yes with such a big 0.8 opening it is possible to print very fast large pieces.

Leon: you should definitely consider purchasing one of those blocks from Anders... I've started using mine last week and I love being able to swap out nozzles in 30 seconds :)

Oh yes I want that block for sure. Very good 'innovation' and cheap E3D nozzles.

Thanks! For a first quick mount I used the friction welding method and after that the 3Doodler to fill gaps and repairs. Works great.

Friction welding? Where can I find more about this method? That sounds promising.

Just put a piece of filament in a dremel and tip the wanted connection at high speed.

Little Robot designed with Autodesk Inventor, 24 parts, printed on Ultimaker 2. I'll must wait servo motors for the arms, but for now it is controllable via bluetooth and is capable to avoid obstacles with an ultrasonic sensor.

The temperature is 245C speed 60 and material flow 95%. I figured that out after some test prints all the pieces came out nice with these settings.

Is it water tight? My spiralize objects sliced with Cura have tight outer shells but the bottom looks like a sieve.

Not watertight, the bottom is like you describe. I was thinking to pass some XTC-3D to seal it.

PVC glue works good to make it watertight... but better is to increase to flow to somewhat like 120 - 140% on the bottom layers, or also on all layers for a little bit thinker walls ...

this works very well (tested) with drilled out UM nozzles, the olson/E3D may need even more flow increase, best is just to try a few different flow settings on a few small spiralize objects. It also doesn't hurt to make the bottom a bit thicker

I feel like it has been a really long time since I posted. I have not forgotten about you guys. I have just been deep in the process of developing a new youtube show using my Ulitmaker 2 and the logos of different youtube personalities.

It started with my cinemassacre 3d print that I did as a fan (which I shared here several months back) and has blossomed into a fun series about developing 3d prints. I have several other logos that I am already working on and hope to get more youtubers involved. I'll keep you guys updated if you are interested.

Anyway check out the latest episode.

And here are a couple images if you just want to check out the finished 3d print itself.

For me flow at 110% on the first layers makes them water tight (like Arjan Advised). Tested with the 0.8 nozzles too

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
