Another dual extrusion test http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:647840. Scaled to 40%, blue and orange PLA, layer height 0.12mm, printing time 58 min.

Temp some degrees too high, especially for the orange.

This one is not really optimized for dual extrusion. Scaled down like that, the orange surface is shallow (0.8mm, you almost can see the blue shining through) and consists of tiny bits, virtually just blobs of filament.

Ok so here is my latest bust test using Autodesks Momento, using my crappy phone camera for the 51 photos. It came out pretty good, much more detailed than Catch123, but more separation issues from the background as it looked more complete in 123, but for a first attempt not too shabby. Printed in 0.1 colorfabb red PLA 222C 50mm/s.

make sure you sit still...and use a camera with a real fast shutter for better results!

Only available on pc at the mo from what ive seen, and yes its free as well...

This should be the last bi-colored animal for some time ...

What size is that? It looks really good, even the print lines are hard to spot.

This dual extrusion thing might finally actually happen :D

Just a touch of sanding and acetone and a touch more light sanding and undercoat then three to four light coats of metalic gold chrome. Didnt take too long. Might want to varnish or seal it after as the gold i used wore out a bit when i rubbed it. You can check my acetone smoothing pla thread for more pics.

I finally decided to try out the Tree Frog that I have seen heaps of other people print and see how well my new fan shroud that I designed works. Not bad for a first attempt.

    Nice prints guys :)

This is the same gcode printed twice with a 0.8mm nozzle and layers of 0.2mm

Left, bronzeFill sanded and polished by hand, right BambooFill covered with some oil for wood (Osmo oil).

No problems at all with the .8mm nozzle for bronzefill, and bambooFill prints very nicely too

    @didier, that's a surprisingly nice result for 0.8/0.2 !

I've noticed that bronzefill doesn't really care. I've been printing at 0.6/0.2. As soon as you sand it a bit, all the layers are gone anyway!

Yep and Woodfill is nice too with big layers :)

I'm pretty sure you can have a nice result too with .3mm layers with both of them. And also that you can avoid blocked nozzzles with a .8mm nozzle and wood filaments

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
