Haven't posted here in a while,

I had an order for a Stargate I haven't made in a long time, and I lost one of the parts molds,

so I thought why not print it and make a new mold :)

Printed in PLA white

IMG_1664.JPG

cleaned up the part, made 10  copies (1 extra), in tinted resin.

unnamed.jpg

and painted these in the same paint scheme as the rest of the Stargate.

IMG_1663.JPG

and whole gate, just to show off :)

IMG_1662.JPG

The Stargate is 1 meter (40") in diameter

nice work!

how did you do the resin cast?

cheers!

I made a silicone mold of the part, and cast it 10 times,

I already made a new mold, that has all 10 parts in one mold.

Made myself a bracket to hold UM2 electronics.... as a testbench and most likely the start of a long self-build journey...

Was curious about the chinese clone electronics (and did not want to spend the money ultimaker is asking...), sofar the only thing I found is that they placed all temp sensor connectors up-side-down :) not a big deal, just need to bend them up a little... it works ok, did not jet test it with any motors.

Thanks. It's a print. PLA, 200 mm tall, 0.06 layer height. Painted with Citadel Miniature paints.

I would not believe you if I had not seen "the Grinner" of your website in earlier pages of this topic!

it looks SO awesome. look at those teeth!

    Love it!

    Cheers!

thought I'd try something new, I have seen a guy here make a cool ninja style tinkerplay. I got some filament laying around so i'd though id make... a monkey-ish-thing?

my experience, it works great! I only have some general problems with support and ball shapes, but overall im quite pleased with the "tinkerplay" experience.

This is obviously doesn't come anywhere close to the amazing works of the art that were posted here in the old good days of the forum.

However, I made this fridge magnet for a colleague of mine who wanted to make a birthday gift to his expecting wife.

    WP_20150710_01_36_02_Pro.thumb.jpg.2014425f0a3a6173c6b3e385f516d084.jpg

As he says, the positive effect was overwhelming.

So I'm just happy having made their day. :-)

@shurik, that's cool. How did you fit the magnets? Glued or stopped the print and inserted?

    Thanks guys!

The Superglue did the trick with the magnet as well as with the attachment of the red and the white PLA.

My colleague was very happy indeed, because his wife was very happy with the gift. :-)

So, I got his permission to publish the magnet.

Ive made this automata as a birthday present for a good friend of mine.

    Its called "Flight of thoughts"

    It function as follows:

First a gear is selected, high or low, which determines flight speed and rotational speed of propeller. Then the user determines the flight plane by actuating the control stick

And lastly the motion is formed by turning the crank.

The plane can then be controlled in flight by the control stick.

The design uses a swashplate design to give path, which both rasies and lowers the plane, aswell as choose a fitting nose attitude (pitch). The gears and links are merely for control and actuation.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
