So this will be the "prosthetic" arm for the lady. I guess you glue them together (ofc the version with the longer fingers) because you will plate it anyway?

Another lady, expected to be finished in the next minutes. But I am not sure if I should post a picture after she is "undressed" from PVA here in the forum. 🙂

Because we are still waiting for the aluminum build plate for the S5, I see you have found an alternative for it in the meantime 🙂 A more expensive one 🙂

well if you modelled it, its art right? but i fully understand, i have many models i simply could not post here. Your one looks a little more provocative to me, but that could just be my imagination 😉

Perhaps your lady is looking for some clothing on a low shelf? whos to say. you can always censor it! a good model is a good model. im modelling lady gadiva at the mo....basically a naked lady on a horse, but it makes a change from sculpting demons and monsters for me.

....but I would be curious for your settings using pva, as you don't seem to use as much as others.

@ScanHD im gonna do something a bit different with this one! and the hair is going to be a colour you may well like!!! I hope it works out, doing the hand now.

lols, about the alu plate, was wandering if that is out yet?

A little bit, but it still fits in the category "sexy" and not more. But she is still taking a bath to get rid of her "clothes" 🙂

Nothing special, I just used the default settings, haven't changed anything. But if you increase the horizontal support expansion just a little bit, then much more support is used. It depends on the model, if PVA support can be completely build up from the build plate, then it is fine, if you have PVA which sticks only to PLA somewhere at the model, then you have to increase the support expansion to get thicker support which is then (hopefully) touching the build plate.

I felt like a surgeon doing this, was fun!

    operation complete!

The bowl of nuts is just a nice mechanism of being able to position the model in anyway i choose quickly and easily while the glue sets. A bit ghetto stlye but very practical!

Lol. Im gonna acetone her and paint her and we'll see how she turns out.... oh im nervous!!

Printing at 195 with the bed at 55 seemed to have solved the warped bottom. Dutch orange is a very melty pla. It holds heat for longer. I also think if the poly count is too high, cura doenst like it. I could be wrong, but i remember having thus issue even on my um2. Either way im gonna print the newer model again and we'll see if im right. I fiddled around way too much trying to save the arm in the first so im not even sure what i did....

This reminds me of a design i've been working on that is printed in the same way. But its based on a series of hexagons and pentagons which curl up and clip together to form a ball. Just small scale test prints so far, and i haven't had enough success to try a full scale print yet.

Cool idea! I guess you just need to figure out the tolerances of the fold size and how to clip the ends into each other.

I made some improvements for my self adjusting filament guide:

    - The version 2 (the white parts on the pictures) can now catch and release the filament without pulling it back.
    - Thanks to a snap connection between the holder and the sphere no glue is required anymore.

I've been scanning/re-designing and printing some Guitar pedal enclosures this week. The idea is to save some pedalboard space so i can fit more pedals on my board :)

This prototype is printed in PLA at 0.2, but the final version will be Nylon.

Great idea, but make sure it can always be disassembled again afterwards. Because once assembled - if it can't be undone - it would lose much of its magic.  :-)

Shouts out to active levelling and the large platform on the S5 to enable making such wonderfull objects!!!😜

Shouts out to my awesome core cleaning skills too! Lol.

Also shows the repeated reliability of the s5 considering this is only my 3rd  or 4th real dual colour print! the blocked core was my fault! So glad i could reliably unblock it too!

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
