A simple crown I made for my 3-year old's school show (he needed a "Little Star" uniform):

Wow, nice! I'm guessing the stars and the crown were printed separately?

How did attach them so they are tight?

Yes, I created everything in the same model, and used a boolean to "subtract" the stars from the ring, so that it left perfectly-shaped holes. I added some glue, though, because they would never stand a chance staying upright on a 3-year old's head :)

...and this one's for my 5-year old, who will be playing a police officer (no idea what a police officer is doing in a Christmas show):

Here are my last ones, some Xmas decoration, that you can use for hanging mobiles. On the Youmagine page you will find the Blender file to try it if you want

In previous years our parachute team would use tape for fastening lights to our helmets.  The tape job needed to be redone each time we had a night jump.   It was a time consuming job and it was messy.

This year I had the tools necessary to make snag-proof light mounts that could be quickly installed or removed.   My two UM2's worked hard for a few days straight to make 32 of these mounts.   Modelling was done in OnShape, PETG material from Intservo was used, with a .6 nozzle installed on an Olsson Block, and of course the |Robert| feeder was installed on both machines

With the risk of sounding like a retard, did you go parachute jumping during the fireworks?

That is what it looks like on the second picture.

    Isn't that super dangerous?

    Very cool story!

Feel free to share some more about it :)

@SandervG   Thanks!   The still image makes it difficult to see the origin of these fireworks, but even crazier than jumping during a pyro show, our parachutists are launching them from the formation.

A video is the best way to show what's happening. The last person you see jumping out is wearing pyro brackets on both legs.   Fireworks ignite at about 1:10 into the clip:

I work with a team called Canopy Formation Specialitsts.    We train jumpers to do demonstration jumps around the world.

One year ago I bought my first printer (UM2) with the sole intention of using it to make test models for some prototype parts.  The end goal was injection molding.  At the time I didn't realize that fully functional, durable parts could really be manufactured at home.

    Hi All,

I was not on the forum for some time and this is the reason:

    P1020852.thumb.JPG.a7737211a692882cd665afd506c37192.JPG

Its my 3D printed turntable for my H0 track. It took lots of hours to make and design but it is working quite well and that counts. With the printed gears and the steppen motor it is very accurate and stable.

I still need to do some track work but the turntable itself is finished. The design is uploaded on YouMagine.

Very cool! You make quite some parts with your Ultimaker don't you, like other parts for your entire set up? Do you also 3D print trains?

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
