Alright!

After some hours fiddling, finally done! My best print so far! Also the longest.

The support I removed by using a knife heated in a waxine light ( improvising!) and cutting through it, Then removing it with small tool.

Only the knees and the face are a bit off, the rest is exactly awesome.

I really Love my Ultimaker! ( in a metaphorical way, don't get any ideas)

Showtime:

im too young to be eaten!

My brother is the lucky bastard who is going to receive it ;)

You could raise it. It is not like it would hurt somebody if too much love is spread...

Right, I raised it to 50 for now (just in case there's some unforseen issue. Not that I can see one though), love away.

Woah I missed a ton of awesome posts today at work! It's pretty cool how you can print your children toys, and that they will grow up with it so much apart of their lives.

I´m really glad with my UM1 but seeing this prints, I honestly think, I will never manage such quality with it...

    So, think I have to:

    1.) start savings

2.) try to convince my girlfriend to get a new toy

    :-)

evening guys... i have to say one thing.

my boss came to be last week friday and told me I need to have a large model with 59 seperate printed builings for a big city concept model.. I kinda choked with the idea but said id try my best.

Well its Tuesday evening and my ultimaker2 has just completed printing building number 56....

HOW.....OH MY GOD.... COOOL IS THAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iv click printed 56 projects in 3 days with zero problems.. zero rejected models... i havent even wasted any PLA anymore.. so the cost of material directly translated from the project at hand...

I kinda cant believe it really... this one year ago was like pulling fingers nails out.. praying and hoping with every model... 56...... boys and girls.... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Wow Ian.. What can I say on that... You are the Super Master!

How long did it take you to print one medium-sized building and what settings did you use?

    Hi Shurik !! :-)

Im the city builder with an ultimaker2 under my arm :-) :-)

The settings I used to get fast and nice prints was this:

    layer height: .25

    speed: 90

    temp: 230

    wall: .8

    top bottom layer: 1.2

    flow rate: 98 percent

    fan. 50 percent

Wait... what. You're printing 0.25mm layers at 90mm/s? On a UM2? Without problems? My printer starts skipping steps at around 60-65mm/s with 0.2mm layers and a temp of 260.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
