Posted · Tab anti wrapping plugin no longer available?

Hi,

I saw a video on YT to stop the corners from wrapping but I couldn't find this plug in.

Any authentic way to still download it?

I think prusa slicer still has an option for that.

The author has removed it from the store as it's not receiving any further development & may not be compatible with never versions of Cura. The Cura package can be downloaded from his GitHub here. https://github.com/5axes/TabPlus/releases

If you open Cura, drag & drop the downloaded package into the Cura desktop & restart Cura the plugin should be installed

"I saw a video on YT to stop the corners from wrapping(sic)..."

If you bring a "support blocker" into Cura and then with it selected choose the "Per Model Settings" tool you can get it to act as a "normal model".  Then size it in the Z to whatever height you want and put it in place.  It's the same sort of thing and can help hold the corner (or long skinny features) down on the build plate.

Here I've made the blocker mesh 40 x 30 x 0.40 so it would be 2 layers tall.

As I recall, there was a (reported) bug involving the models that the plugin used (Support Cylinders was another plugin by the same author).  If those models were included in a project file - when you opened that project file in Cura the "tabs" moved to different locations.  Whether it was a Cura bug, or a bug in the plugin I don't think was resolved to anyone's satisfaction.  I've never had any trouble with them myself.

I had an issue with the Spoon Tabs plugin by the same author, where the layout in a saved project containing the tabs would change when reloaded, which appeared to be a Cura bug & it's manifestation was a bit random. It was flagged up here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/18761 & https://github.com/5axes/SpoonAntiWarping/issues/8.

There was a suggested workaround to use the Mesh Tool: Reset origin to centre of Mesh before saving the project in lieu of a Cura fix, which seemed to do the trick.

The release notes for Cura 5.7.2 suggested a fix was implemented https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/releases/tag/5.7.2-RC2  However I haven't saved & loaded many projects containing Spoon Tabs since so don't know if there are any usage scenarios that are still triggering the layout issue
