Just a heads up, the new version won't change settings half the time if you select a different filament. If I use an older version of the software it works as intended. Windows 11.

@jhakala1963 have you filled out a bug report on GitHub? There are a couple of bugs reported regarding the Adaptive Layer settings but I haven't seen any others.

I haven't had this problem (which is the great thing about bugs, half the time you can never cause them so you can fix them). Are you sure you're not just having this problem?

Hey don,t want to start a new topic, so I'll try asking here. I've been using ver 4.6.1 for quite a while now (Windows), seen the prompt of a new version in the app, and finally decided to update after quite few years - but to my surprise it doesn't install in the same folder - so now having two Cura instances installed.
But this means my profiles/saved settings didn't transfer to the new version, thought this might be one of the steps in `Get Started`, but it wasnt. Could someone please aid me, how to transfer settings to new version of the app? Thanks!

I can't say I've tried a version gap that big, but in theory whenever you first run a newer version of Cura it copies the configuration folder from the most recent version (even if your version isn't very recent) and tweaks the configuration files if the format for them has changed or whatever and it should show you the "What's New" but not start you from scratch.
I don't know if this will cause problems due to aforementioned possible changes, but in Cura go to Help > Show Configuration Folder (I know it exists in new versions, not sure about older ones), and then go up one folder from that and there should be a folder for every Cura version you've run (even if you don't have them installed any more). Close Cura, go into the folder for 4.6, copy and paste everything into the folder for 5.9 and hopefully 5.9.1 doesn't crap itself when you try to run it.
You can also try to get it to do the copying thing again by deleting the folder for 5.9 if that doesn't work. It might also help if you copy your folder for 4.6 and name it 4.13 (the last release of version 4) which it might be more willing to copy from.

Did it manually in the end - materials were easy with import/export, and then just did set-up the printer, thanks though
