Posted · Help to calibrate my Ultimaker 3 Extended

Hi everyone. I have an Ultimaker 3 Extended. I used it for half a year without any issues, it is the best 3D printer on the market, then I decided to clean the glass on the bed and then performed a first manual calibration. I've already spent 8 hours trying to adjust the distances between the left, right screw, and the wheel for back side. But without success—0.1 mm in the wrong direction, and my print is ruined. It's impossible to perfectly calibrate the sides because the manual says to rely on "feel." Since I print detailed figures, this is critical. The instructions for manual calibration focus on fine-tuning without giving specific guidance. How do you calibrate your printer? Could you suggest any methods?

Yes, thanks for the tip, but this is useless. I’ve already spent 2 days trying to adjust the distances between the left and right screws and the rear side, but without success. A 1mm difference between the left and right sides and my print is ruined, over and over again. And there’s only manual calibration, which just tells you to focus on your 'feeling' when calibrating. The creator claims it's for professionals? Who made this printer, a clown? I strongly do not recommend this printer to anyone!!!

Don't bother with the 1mm calibration--do both passes at the paper height distance instead. Is it possible you've got the wrong side of the glass facing up after cleaning? It really should just work. Do you have the active leveling running before every print?
