Posted · Using Meanwell Lrs-350-24 Power Supply with Ultimaker 2

I own an Ultimaker 2 Go and am attempting to make a new power supply for it.

After adding a heated bed to it and increasing the wattage of the heater cartridge, I believe I am overdrawing the 120 watt power supply, as it sometimes turns off mid print. (I am running klipper, and turning down the max output for the heated bed solves seems to fix this.) Instead of purchasing an Ultimaker 2 power supply, I got a meanwell lrs-350-24 (350 watt) power supply for cheaper and am trying to use it with this printer. Instead of soldering it directly to the board, which I could not find out how to do, I cut the din 4 pin connector side off of a DC to din 4 pin adapter, and connected it to the power supply. Attached is a picture of what I made.

However, when I plug it into my ultimaker, the green indicator light on the ultimaker does not turn on, and klipper is not able to connect to it. So, I assume that it is not turning on at all. Also, when I plug it in, the power supply green led isn't on either.

Asking to see if anyone could help me fix the issue for my current idea, or perhaps mention a way to directly solder it to the ultimainboard. Thanks!

The image leaves me with a couple of questions.

Where do the "Voltage In" lines connect?

Did you pick the correct "Voltage Out" pins on the DIN connector?  (The ground may be the shield.)

Is the "Voltage In" selector switch on the power supply set to your input voltage?
