After you slice, the "Slice" button splits into "Preview" and "Save to Disk" which will save the gcode to your hard drive.
If you happen to have a removeable drive plugged into the converter you can hit the drop down arrow and select the removeable drive.
If you "Save to removeable drive" it will do so with the default project name and you don't get to change names. "Save to Disk" is the more conventional way to save the file to your hard drive. Then you have a good file and can copy it to and SD card.
You can also select the "File | Export" command and choose "Gcode files" in the "Save as Type" box.
