Feature Request: Optional Frame Lighting Control for Remote Camera Access

Posted · Feature Request: Optional Frame Lighting Control for Remote Camera Access

I would like to propose a feature enhancement for the firmware that could help reduce energy consumption and improve user experience.

Specifically, I suggest adding an option in the settings menu to enable the frame lighting only when the camera is accessed remotely. By default, the frame lighting could remain off, turning on automatically when a remote user activates the camera feed. Once the remote session ends, the frame lighting would switch off again.

This functionality would:

  • Reduce unnecessary energy consumption when the printer is idle or not actively monitored.
  • Maintain visibility for remote monitoring only when needed.

This feature could be especially useful for users in energy-conscious environments or those operating multiple printers.

Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the feasibility of implementing this feature in a future firmware update.
