Posted · Need assistance with unresponsive black screen

Dear ultimaker community, I am writing to seek your assistance regarding an issue with my Ultimaker S5 R1. I’ve owned the printer for a couple of years, and it has been functioning reliably until yesterday. After completing a print, the screen turned black, with only a white line appearing at the bottom. This issue has not occurred before.

The issue arose while I was cleaning the print bed of PVA filament fragments. Specifically, as I was cleaning the back seam between the bed and the platform with a metal scraper, I noticed a spark. I am unsure whether this is purely coincidental or directly related to the screen problem.

To troubleshoot, I removed the bottom cover and checked the HDMI cable, which appears to be securely connected. I also tested the monitor, which works fine when connected to other devices. The printer itself is functional when accessed via Digital Factory, and I have successfully completed a print this way. However, the screen remains unresponsive and black. I have tried powering the printer off and on several times, as well as leaving it disconnected from power for 12 hours, but the issue persists. I have submitted a support ticket with Ultimaker and awaiting their response.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on resolving this issue so that I can restore full functionality to the printer.
