How to replace a belt on Ultimaker 2?

You need to loosen the grub screws on the pulleys on the rod that runs through the sliding block, so that you can slide that rod out of the sliding block.

Then loosen the pulleys on the two rods that run at right angles, and slide those rods out partially, so that you can take off the pulleys that the belt goes around.

Then open up the sliding block carefully, and replace the belt and/or spring. Then reassemble everything in reverse order.

The assembly manual may help:

I also am seeing the front X belt on my Ultimaker 2 starting to tear, with some fiber threads beginning to poke through the rubber.

I want to order replacement belts, but the Ultimaker store only lists replacement belts which are compatible with the original model:

    https://www.ultimaker.com/products/belts-pack

Is this pack also compatible with the UM2? If not where and how can I source a replacement?

As time goes by things change. Illuminarti is hardly ever on the forum these days as he is busy with the Ultimaker production in America. However, his wife, @fbrc8-erin is also on the forum and helps wherever she can. Maybe she or also @sandervg can check and make that assembly manual available on the Github source?

Anyway, for the assembly of the belts/sliding blocks, the assembly is the same as for the UM2 with just shorter belts.

Thanks for the feedback. I know that overall i can use the UM2 assembly manual for the UM 2 go. The main difference is the measure and possition of the X/Y sacer bushes. Therefore i liked too know where, and in what position the spacer bushes are in the UM 2 go

    greetings Ed

Hi, Ed, the only difference for the 2 Go vs. the 2 is that your front most spacers on the 2Go are 3mm wide, whereas on the UM2 they're 5mm wide. The large spacer is still 25mm and the medium ones are still 10mm. Make sure everything is tight against the walls.
