Hello, I installed the new firmware with the new version of Cura and I have this strange problem:

during the print session, the fans speed is slow down by the machine, when I rise again the speed using the tune menu, after a little time the machine slow down again the velocity to 7%. What can I do?

    New Update on the situation:

I proceed yet with the print session, and I notice that the machine slow down the fans speed with incremental percentage, infact now is slowing down to 11% instead 7%, and before pass from 8%, to 9% and to 10%

The fan speed increases gradually from off at the start to whatever speed you set in the Cura, by the height you specify. So check the settings in Cura's expert settings.

The gradual increase is done by setting a new fan speed on each layer. Consequently, if you change it in the tune menu, it will get reset on the next layer start.

mmh Then is this a CURA problem not a machine firmware issue? I must change the fan full of the height to 0 I suppose.

    Excuse me for this misunderstanding

Yes, but you have a 5mm 'full speed height'. So it won't reach 100% until z=5. Above that height the fan should be full on. Below that height it will gradually increase from off, on the first layer, to full speed by whatever layer corresponds to 5mm high.

Nothing to do with the firmware, no. Unless you aren't seeing full speed on the upper layers. And even then, probably not.

When I created the gcode, I forgot to change the value of "the fan full of the height" to 0.5mm, I look at the setting only after your reply... pardon :(

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
