Yep works really well with Robert's feeder.

Aslo you can use the Pause at Height plugin to trigger the pause at the exact height you need. This is not like a regular pause so you will notice that you cannot play around with the menu while its paused and consider bringing the head to some position like 20, 20 so its easy to clear the nozzle from previous filament

I don't think the pause at z plugin takes the power of the feeder motor (but I'm not sure).

As long as it's under power you cannot pull back the filament. So yes, you'll probably need an open feeder.

Perhaps you can try it, just print a single layer of something and pause it.

@Blizz Yeah, I'm getting tired of the underextrusion anyway I think I'll change for Roberts extruder.

Have you guys noticed a good improvement after the change?

Charles for regular filament my UM2 was already pretty awesome, so quality wise not that I have noticed.

I installed it for all the other advantages:

    • It allows changing filament very easily
    • Has the snap on for flexibel filament.
    • It's a lot easier to clean after grinding.

Dammit , guess I was expecting too much then.

Nonetheless still has some pretty good advantages.

    Thanks for the info :)

Same for me. It took me a while to get the good tension again but once I did I dont regret changing it at all. Especially if you print flexible filament or things that may clog easily like wood fill
