It is very nice that you are making renderings from OpenSCAD files uploaded. However I wonder what version of OpenSCAD you are using, because it doesn't match my model. Compare what I see:

DCBoost-Assy-v1.jpg

with what your software rendered, below. Colors don't translate, OK; but I see the screw heads are missing. Also, the cylinders modelling the caps and toroid on the PCB have the wrong (much too small) diameter. The cylindrical screw bosses in the case top & bottom are completely gone. I am using OpenSCAD version 2014.10.02 (beta) but this file also renders properly in OpenScad version 2014.03 .

With CGAL compile and reender I only get the yellow and greeen colour. Colours are not working with this option (that has to be used before exporting STL files). Correct me when I am wrong.

Thanks for noticing. Colors indeed will be more complicated, as they are lost during CSG calculations. Renderings are made based on the STL that is automatically created by executing OpenSCAD command-line.

I indeed see some missing cylinders. The tops of bolts are missing, but also the capacitors (I'm guessing).

I found out it's using a pretty ancient OpenSCAD (version 2012.05.26), which I could upgrade. What's the name of your model. I'd love to repeat rendering it with the old version and then upgrade and then compare the two.

    Erik

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
