"C:\Models\ProblemModels"

Yes, I want models like that

I'm really sorry. I actually deleted the 'corrupt' version and have only working versions left...

It was one of the new Fairphone case designs (Snowflake) for which I added some support with Blender.

If I get the problem again (maybe with one of the other four new Fairphone case designs) I'll make sure the model finds its way to you.

Is this what you are looking for with single layer view?

It will be pretty simple to do but can't do it now. I'll update to version 14.12 too.

Did you get anywhere with the single layer view? I wasn't sure from your comments whether it was something you were going to try and deliver pretty quickly?

Just sliced this model in RC3. Top and Bottom Infill are not working or atleast not diplayed

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90634021/02-castle.stl

Also the model has various overlapps. I think it is perfect for you Daid ;D

    In14.12 Infill is working

Edit: Ah i just saw you made a change to how infill i shown.... sadly that 1 line is not fattened and is overlapped by the shell lines

Here are the changes for single layer view:

sceneView.py need to be saved to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.12.1\Cura\gui\"

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byhp9wWpyMGWNXd2RkVTT2U0aG8/view?usp=sharing

engineResultView.py need to be saved to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.12.1\Cura\gui\util\"

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byhp9wWpyMGWb3NkSkVwdmotSnM/view?usp=sharing

Just pick "Single Layer" in the view modes.

Note: These files also contain the manual slicing.

The changes are also available on my github but with other changes

    Cheer pm_dude.. You are awesome!!...

Edit: Just tested it in 14.12 ( as I havn't upgraded to 14.12.1 as I think this is just a Firmware change) and its great.. Exactly what I wanted.

Thanks again and happy Christmas.. .Daid.. Any chance this could be 'maintained' and added to future releases? Or will we have to get pm_dude to update it after each release?

    Jon

Cheers. how does one get a feature like this integrated into the product so that its automatically contained in each release? Does Daid have to back this and 'adopt' the fix?

I would like to think this could be considered as its a really nice and useful feature.

    Tested... works great :-)

the only thing I´m missing is the possibility to simulate the print e.g. to check the direction of printing would be nice. I know, there are some possibilities like the online gcode simulator, nevertheless, something like this built into cura might be an additional benefit...

As usual, just my two cents... :-)

    Good news.

Support for single layer view with 15.01 RC6 can be found here:

    https://github.com/pmsimard/Cura/commit/0fc81665a174d94d828d594fef31d1f8b6aa591a

Daid merged the change in the main version too. Thanks :)

@drayson, I've tested something to show the individual steps of the layer but it wont work properly without some important changes but its doable.

Awesome.. So does this mean that the single layer view will now be available on all future versions, without the need for you to change your code each time?

Happy days. Just realised that RC7 is out so installed it and the single layer view is not present.. So I guess its not included quite yet...

. I will have to think of another fix now for you to work on for me :)

Maybe I can find some people willing to test a new version of the TweakAtZ plugin here? The resonance in the dedicated thread was - well - modest...

If you're interested, you may find it here: https://github.com/Dim3nsioneer/Cura-Plugins/raw/development/TweakAtZ_V3.99-RC2.py.

    Thanks! :)

There is some room for improvement if areas are filled. I sometimes have the impression it is a little bit chaotic, as the print head starts to draw the lines and then suddenly goes to another area to fill and moves back again. might need some mathematical elaboration on this to fill areas with the least possible head movements.

if fill is set to e.g. 20% as it is as default, it would be nice to be able to set the origin. I have noticed that depending on how the fill is located in the print some fills are erally a good mesh, some are close to useless. At the same time it would be nice to be able to have selective fill options. e.g. an enclosure with 'thick walls' of let's say 2 mm and some support poles of e.g. 10 mm diameter. I would like to have the walls 100% filled but the support poles 20% filled. But myabe I missed a setting here.

If an object is multiplied, the distance between these indivdual objects is very generous, there is at least 5mm to 10 mm space wasted to avoid collisions, I think this could be improved.

when supports are included, there should be possiblity to have these fine tuned too (for the few things I made so far I ended up by designing the supports in the model in the CAD system, as the automatic supports did lead to 'bad' results)

maybe material shrinkage compensation? maybe more for the very experienced user

    just my 2c

I updated to Cura 14.12.1 today and I can't drag any STL's into cura anymore.. Why is that? Before that I was using 14.9 (I missed a few versions)

Funny I got that issue with 15.01 RC3. All the versions before including 14.12.1 works fine

That's weird.. It's kind of annoying that this does not work anymore... Is there a simple fix for this?

Maybe it as something to do with the file type association during the install? Maybe not...

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
