other safe metals that don't break are:

acupuncture needles,

wires of a metal brush (brass, steel)

binder strips for garbage bags

I tried acupuncture needles and garbage ties - both were too fat. Wires off a highly specific metal brush might work, but I would need a link to this particular brush to verify.

hypodermic needles - as they are hollow (so stiff) and you can order the bore size you want. - ebay has a few sellers.

I now own an Olssen block with 4 nozzle sizes (0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0mm). I love it. Its how the next Ultimaker should be made by default.

It is how the UM2+ are made by default ;)

Just pull out the PLA and cut off the end and push it back again and I have had no problems in a clogged nozzle
