What is causing these weird sticks?

Posted · What is causing these weird sticks?

So, I'm using Cura to prep for printing on my Sumpod, because I could not get anything useful out of Slic3r. Mostly it works really well.

Occasionally, I get these 'sticks' that protrude out of the print, and this time - out of the blue - sticking up from the bed and all over.

Anyone have an idea what causes this and how to stop it?

Thanks!

When the head travels from one parts to another, the nozzle oozes slightly. This can happen even with retraction turned on.

to fix it you can put the parts closer together, speed up travel speed to 250mm/s (make sure rods are lubed with light oil), lowering nozzle temp, or adjusting the retraction settings.

I would print 2 of these parts and adjust 1 setting at a time and see the effect so you learn what changes they make.

Play in the Bowden tube can effect retraction so make sure it doesn't have any movement in the connections.
