Leveling print bed Ultimaker Original Plus

Recommended Posts

Hello Ultimaker users,

I know 1000 times same question "How can I level the print bed?"

But I have no idea how to get my print bed level.

My Ultimaker Original Plus heated print bed makes me little tired:

My measurements-->

Left front 1 sheet paper = Okay

Middle back 1 sheet paper = Okay

Right front 1 sheet paper = Okay

Left back ==> Nozzle pressing full against the print bed.

Right back between nozzle and print bed I can put 3-4 sheets paper.

Second issue: X axis 0-210 mm = Okay

Y axis 0 to 206 mm I must stop

because the nozzle hitting glas retainer at 207 mm (left back is okay only right back glas retainer makes problem).

Can somebody give me an idea where or what should I check?

Thanks and regards

p.s. My Ultimaker is printing really nice but just I want to be sure I assembled it right.

Maybe check the counter-sunk bolts that hold the Heated bed PCB (1155) down and make sure they are all level and not pushing the glass up...the glass should be 100% flush on the surface of the bed. I had to counter sink all mine on my 1st UMO+ kit, these could be causing trouble.

this thread talks about a similar issue on UM2 and has helpful photos of what to look for.

Did you level it with the bed heated or cold? Heat may cause the bed to change very slightly. It's a bigger issue with other printers.

I'd also tighten all three adjustment screws a few turns, move your Z stop down a little and level it again.

If the adjustment screws are way too tight, the springs might putting too much tension on the assembly, and I'd loosen them and move the z stop up a little.

    • Taking Advantage of DfAM
This is a statement that’s often made about AM/3DP. I'll focus on the way DfAM can take advantage of some of the unique capabilities that AM and 3DP have to offer. I personally think that the use of AM/3DP for light-weighting is one of it’s most exciting possibilities and one that could play a key part in the sustainability of design and manufacturing in the future.
