Cura not layering correctly and removing sections of design

Posted · Cura not layering correctly and removing sections of design

When I put in the STL file into Cura it works fine until you go into layer view and it shows the top inset circle as filled in/not there at all. Any help? (In the layered view the top face on the lower section of the design isn't shown to be there when looking at the top layer but when you go down towards that layer it appears, so thats a bug I know about).

    Probably the layer view is right, it's just showing the movments the printer is going to perform.

    I had some slicing issues solved by try turning off/on options in the Expert settings, in the Fix Horrible section.

    So if the model is not right in layer view it will not print right, that's what layer view is for..  try to solve it with the fix horrible like Ultibrain says.

    What CAD software did you use? Skechup is famous for creating .stl's with errors.

    If you used Sketchup have a look at the fee "Design Spark Mechanical"  (just google) which is much better for 3dprinting.
