  1. Hello. I am working to set the Mark2 on my printer. I still having some doubts about its benefits comparing it with the use of the normal dual extruder that come with the ultimaker2 printer. Could you someone let me know which are its improvements and benefits?. As a disavantages, the print area decrease and are more parts for move. Sorry if I do not explain very well. I do not want to offend anyone and nobody gets upset, I only want to have a clear idea about the Mark2 project and its benefits.

    Another thing

Have someone see this? I do not understand german. In this utimaker2 mod, appart the fact the is cooling by water the hotend, during its functionating the nozzles are  going up and down continually

  2. Hello Everybody. Happy New Year!.

I as a lot of people I´ve been following this project for along time, waiting for it for the realase of all the information. Finally we have it all togheter and I can set this wonderfull mod on my printer.

First at all, sorry for the bad english redaction.

I have some questions related to the dock position. I have a Ultimaker 2 aluminum clone (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:811271) , and I would like to set this MarK2 project on it. Because the chassis configuration is different to the Original Ultimaker2, the "clamping-dock" part posted in the Mark2-Boom does not fits very at all. I am modificating this part for it fit it on my printer, but I have somes questions.

    - To which distance must be the low side of the clamping dock from the extrude head axis??
    - Which distance I have consider from the clamping dock sides to the slider blocks of the printerhead ??
    - Any additional cosideration?

I have attached some picture of my doubts.

  3. > bed sensor temp error

That's not a firmware problem.  That's a hardware problem.  I would take the bed apart and reflow the solder at the connector.  But better would be to take the bed apart and turn the printer on and look at the bed temp.  then push around in various places to see if the wires are maybe loose there at the heated bed or maybe one of the screws is loose (the temp sensor wires are the 2 thinner wires of the 4 wires going to the bed).  It's common for the solder to break free after movement over many months of printing.  If you can't get it to do the error, remove the panel under the printer and push on the cabling at that end.  But it's much much more likely to be the terminal block on the heated bed: either the screws aren't tight enough or the solder cracked.

Thanks you for your reply gr5. But I´m afraid is not a sensor bed problem. Anyway my big problem is that while I am printting, I can not touch the menu wheel or change nothing because the printer stuck (frezee). She only stop in the place where it was printing and a seconds later continue printing. The print them is lost. That is it my biggest problem. Someone know why?

    Regards.

  4. Hello. I need some help with this matter.

I am using the tinkernogme firmawere 15.10. At the beginning everything has gone perfect. I love that firmware version. Since several days I am having several and continue troubles. Sometime occurs that when the printing going to start the temperature indicator on the screen go crazy up and down and the printing stopped and indicat bed sensor temp error. I have revise several times the sensor and its functioning. This error not always occurs, and when the printing has started do not occurs anymore (is only in the first layer at the begining)

Another problem I have is during the printing. I can not touch the roller and modified nothing. I have do it,them print stop for I few seconds like (freeze) and continue again but the print has been corrupted.

I note that mi printter has become more slow (the commands) moving through the menu.

I would like to reset all the configuration and erase all. I have made a factory reset but the configuration still been the same.

Someone could help me?? or could say me something about this??

thanks you very much in advance and forgive me my bad english

  5. Perhaps i'm wrong, but you're talking about the precision of the "Axis steps per mm", right?

I just thought that there's no need for a more precise adjustment...,

if i was wrong i can easily change it for the next release.

    For example:

    ;set axis steps per unitM92 X80.00 Y80.00;store settingsM500

Hello tinkergnome, thanks you for your reply. Yes , is about it. If you could modify it on your next release it will be great.

    Thanks you for all.

  6. Hello Tinker Gnome, first at all give you thanks you very much for your wonderfull firmware for ultimaker 2.

I am very newbie in all this stuff. I was looking and looking on net, information relation of how modified the x,y,z step to calibrate my ultimaker. I have discovered you firmware for my ultimaker 2 and that has been my salvation.

After many calibrate printing I can´t be able to make circles with the correct measurement. On X and Y axle I´ve got diferences of 0.05 to 0.12 after correcting (thanks you to your firmware, very easy to do for newbie like me), but circles does not has the correct measurement yet.

My question... Some one could help me with this? Some one knows why this happened? (the distance and paralelism between on X and Y axle is pèrfect)

Questions to Tinkergnome.... On your firmware I can set x,y,z step with measurement of "0.0 mm", why I can not set for measurement of "0.00 mm" to make it more exact?

Thanks you in advance to all you, forgive me my bad english, and forgive me this possible stupid question,

    Regards.
