I just did the same using these instructions. Easy to do, works great. There's a little bit of an uh-oh moment where it looks like you need to create a debian login on the LCD, but it just moves past that after a bit.

 

Back to using my printer as it should work. Thanks mikkermik!

I sometimes see that too on my UM3 with fw 5.2.8. But a factory reset seems to cure that problem.

I tried one factory reset to no avail. Will try a few more after the USB print finishes. Had the retraction issue when I printed from USB this time, as well.

I'm in the same boat. Updated firmware a few days ago, and now I'm having WiFi issues. Glad I ordered a creality a few days ago that should arrive soon. Unbelievable that an Ender 3 could prove more reliable than the UM3E...
