  1. Thanks illuminarti,

I think I forgot to put one of the two screws that hold the top horizontal plate to the vertical grid back... I don't remember taking one out of there, but it was the same size as the two I removed from the bottom horizontal plate.

Your description also makes me realize that I might have put the threaded rod back in before the temp sensor was in place, thinking its only job was to keep the nozzle block from twisting.

    Very helpful, thank you.

  2. Hello everyone,

Upon launching Cura today I was prompted to download the newest version of the software, along with a Firmware update. After doing so, I can't successfully load new material into the Ultimaker 2. The issue, specifically, is that the feeder is overfeeding the filament. Back in the good old days (yesterday), the "change filament" routine worked beautifully: you'd hand thread the filament into the feeder until it grabbed hold, wait until the filament reached the first clip on the bowden tube, and then press the click wheel to speedily advance the filament toward the hot end. Just before reaching the hot end the feeder would slow down. That is no longer the case, as the feeder continues advancing the filament at a high rate of speed for a second or two too long, slamming the filament into the hot end, failing to extrude, and then grinding down the filament to a state where it can't be further fed toward the hot end.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks ahead of time for your help and suggestions.

  3. Hi everyone. I've had my Ultimaker 2 for over a month now, but am just now pulling myself away from it long enough to join the users group. In general, I have to say that I'm very happy with the machine.

I have noticed an interesting phenomena on the lower portion of some of my prints and wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be going on. When printing cylindrical forms a contraction occurs in the diameter of the cylinder at just about a 1/4" above the build plate (.1 layer height) and lower when printing at thinner layer heights. This is the case with both PLA and ABS.

Here are some pictures, I hope they load correctly (I'm new at this):

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
