Yeah i use a dual extruder.
Im going with 0.2mm. Before i activated that feature i got sometimes little blobs at the retraction point. Rarly i also got strings. But now with the z hop they dissapered.
Yep $120 isn't cheap. I dont even now if it fits the ultimaker head.
-
Cura -> Expert Settings -> Z Hop will exactly do this job.
I have enabled this and i think the retraction qualitiy has improved a little bit.
-

Cura -> Expert -> Open Expert Settings
So ab 180-190°C.

Hmm i use the RepRap Flavor. Although it does not extrude the 16mm before start printing with the second extruder. Could it be my firmware? I generated it here: http://marlinbuilder.robotfuzz.com/
With Cura 14.03 it works fine.
Okay I set the retraction to 13mm. I will give it a try tomorrow.

Hello,
I think there's a bug with dual extruder in the version 14.05RC4. After Retracting 16mm or so, the filament is not extruded by 16mm again. So after a switch between the extruders there is massive underextrusion.
Only as information if you haven't noticed it yet Daid.

-
So here we go:
Could you test it?
-

@DiscoStu:There is something you may improve... if a cutoff is used, the layer number is not adjusted...
Do you mean the total number which is no longer correct?
The problem is that this number already is wrong in the gcode. If you are using a cutoff, look to the end of the code. There are a few empty layers.

BANG BANG versus PWM
For heated beds - because they take so long to heat up - and unless they are very much overpowered, I think bang bang is good enough for something like 1 degree C accuracy - especially at the very high temperatures near the limit of what the bed can do e.g. over 90C.
If you can heat the bed from 20C to 70C in 4 seconds then obviously you need a PWM controller as you will be getting massive overshoot if you don't. But if it takes a few minutes to get up to temperature then "bang bang" mode should be fine. It's all about how much it over shoots when you shut if off.
My bed has zero overshoot - well - less than 1C so bang bang is fine. Similarly if the bed is off and cooling and the thermostat turns the bed heater back on but it overshoots in the downward direction (goes down >4C even though heater is on) then you also would want PWM. But I doubt that you will see this with Jason's kit.
Thank you for your explanation.
Can it this be you have mistaken PWM for PID? I think PWM and Bang Bang is the same?

Hi
I would be interested in ordering a set of pulleys.

-
Yes I mean this one. But there is a new option.
14.03
14.05RC2
-
o.O In the newest version is an option to select a heated bed kit.
Is this a hint? =)

Hallo zusammen,

Okay After reflashing the firmare, it works for me too.
Uploaded the new version to the wiki.
-

Hmm okay could you test this version?
If I use this version, a number is missing at the end.
I probably need to reflash the firmware of the Ulticontroller.
-
Do you have the dot by the first object?
It is strange at my printer. At the first object the dot is missing and comes only at the second. If I remove the dot, a number is missing from the first object. Everything looks good in the gcode.
The display flickers for me too.
Filament hängt im Schlauch.

Also einfach ein kleines Stück?
