  1. I have a Type A Machines Series 1 3d printer. I've recently been having trouble with the extruder stepper motor twitching but not spinning. After testing everything I could think of (changing pot voltage on the stepper drivers, replacing stepper current drivers, etc. I think I've finally isolated the problem). After swapping my extruder stepper driver with the z axis stepper driver, the z axis still works, and the extruder still doesn't work. So my conclusion is that the problem has to do with the RUMBA board, specifically the bay where the stepper driver connects to the board.

Because there are 6 bays on the RUMBA controller, only 4 of which need to be used, is there a way in the MARLIN firmware to change the bay for the extruder stepper driver?

Here's the link to the exact firmware this printer uses:

    (specifically: Series 1 (2014 with G2 [Needle-Based] Hot End) )

Here's a link to the RUMBA board:

I hope I've provided enough detail here.

    Kind Regards,

    Austin

  2. Hey Guys,

I've been having trouble with my 3d printer recently. Within the first few layers, the simplify 3d command line on my computer will tell me that my printer's firmware has become unresponsive.

As a bit of background, I have a Type A Series 1 3d printer. I recently upgraded to a new G2 extruder following these instructions:

    http://support.typeamachines.com/hc/en-us/articles/201509235-Upgrading-to-the-Winchester-G2-Extruder

It should be noted that as part of the upgrade, I had to upgrade the Marlin firmware for the RUMBA motion controller.

Has anyone else seen this issue? I have several theories:

    1. My simplify 3d software is incompatible with the new Marlin firmware

    2. Simplify 3d is creating corrupted .gcode files

    3. There is a bug in the marlin firmware

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Austin

By the way, is there a way to attach a file in this forum so that I can include the .gcode file?
