Hi
I recently changed from cura to Simplify3D and will never look back. But, after careful calibration process I printed the following object and I would like to know how to get rid of the holes and the ugly parts on the surface.

My guess would be to increase temperature but would like to hear what you guys n gals would suggest?

I agree with yellowshark. I preheat the bed to 55 and let it to drop to 45 when I start the print. I use pva glue on glass and it works like a charm. Otherwise the colorfabb filament gives me a headache

Wow nice! Maybe there's hope with colorfabb stuff

Glad that the silver works! Can you tell the speed etc. You are using

It was Skinny kid whose folament snapped . I just have quality problems

Im not sure if I want a replacement my nerves can't take much of this anymore

Colorfabb is more brittle than plain PLA. Also it seems that the filaments are not always well rolled to the case, since today I noticed that a few meters of my greenish beige filament was twisted and almost broken in three spots. I managed to straighten it but Im sure it will snap when it reaches the feeder.
I started a serious testing run today with the beige color. Still a lot to try but the results are ok. I modeled a test piece house L shaped, 1cm high, 2x1 wide. 45 degrees angled roof.
I measured 10 meter section of the filament and got a 1,75mm average thickness! That's damn accurate filament I dare say. I put flow 100%, speed 50 and started from extruder temp 190. I preheated the bed to 55 and when I hit print I turned the bed to 45. Infill was 15%.
I did 5 runs only upping extruder temp by 5 on each run. All prints were OK but few of the roof sides were pretty crudely layered.
The best result was with temp. 200. Then I did 3 runs with keeping all the same settings but dropped the speed ( all speed options) by then. The results were almost identical but the best was with 20 obviously. The roof was better but a few layers were clearly seen among others so maybe extrusion probs? Dont know..
So, tomorrow I will star testing again with temp 200, speed 20 and changing retraction.. Then something else etc. Untill I have the best result I can get. And Im sure that even if I get good / awesome result with this piece the next bigger piece will get screwed for sure..

I am soon giving up with colorfabb, it's almost pure science to get the printing to work. I have tried for about 3 weeks with all the possible setting variations and still not happy. I can get small simple prints to print ok speed 20, temp 175, diameter calibrated, flow calculated etc.. But with the same settings a little larger and with 45 angle fails. Layers dont stick, holes appear etc.
With higher speed 50, temp 220 I almost get a decent print with one color but it has holes and layer connectivity issues. I truly hope I can work this out but Im starting to tjonk that the quality of the filament is not as good as marketed :/

Hi,
New here so greetings to everyone
I have been printing with colorfabb bronzefill (which is awesome ) and been getting good results. Bluegrey color gives me a headache. It seems that no matter how I adjust the temperature, flow and speed settings I end up with a piece with flaws. Small objects come out good, but anything bigger than 3cm height / widht end up with flaws.
Usually the parts are 85% just fine but then there are some holes between the layers and not connected layers. These are usually symptoms of under extrusion or temp probs. But nothing helps. So I think it's the filament that bugs.

I found out that the problem is not the filament but cura and it's settings. I changed to SImplify 3D and prints like charm without tweaks
