I came here looking for a solution to this too. My print has a few small overhangs, but otherwise it doesn't need a brim so I've been going for a skirt to save some post print processing. I've found though that it starts printing some of the supports before it prints the skirt, meaning I don't get good adhesion for the support, even if I prime the extruder prior to the print starting with some custom code. I was trying to mess with the "Layer Start X" and "Layer Start Y" settings to fix this but to no avail... hopefully they fix this up on the next update, unless someone can figure out another solution.
