M302 needs a parameter or two.  M302 S100 would set the temp below your extrusion temperature.  This remains in effect until the printer is shut off.  The next time you turn it on it will be back at 175 degrees.

M302 P1 disables the cold extrude safety.  For coding you should add M302 P0 to your ending gcode to re-enable the safety at the end of the file.  I'm not sure if this gets cancelled at power off.

I don't know what firmware you are running but the Marlin Gcodes are here.

Thanks for the reply, this is really helpful as I didn't realise there needed to be a 'P1' after the M302.

I will add this and the reset as you suggested, I am using marlin so the link is helpful.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Hi all,

Newbie question, I am printing with 'print 2 cast' machinable wax. I have tried various settings with varying success, it appears that most have success when printing this with the extruder temp set to around 145*C. I have researched how to do this as my printer (Artillery Sidewinder X1 v2) will not extrude below 175*C as is and I need to add the G code M302. I have looked at YouTube videos and it looked fairly straightforward as to where to add the code in Cura.

However after adding this code it still won't extrude so perhaps I haven't added it in the right place?

I have attached an image of my g code setting in the Cura window, does this look right?

Any ideas/advice please would be really helpful!

    Thanks.
