Every version of Cura I've used from 4.0 upwards has the same problem: I can rarely select and manipulate (move, resize, rotate) my models. I can right-click to get the control arrows, and they will highlight when I hover over them, but they rarely let me actually move/resize/rotate the object. As soon as I click, they just disappear. And I can almost never click on an object and position it using the mouse.
Sometimes, it works (maybe 10% of the time), but rarely. I've been unable to replicate the problem on demand.
In fact, I've gone back to Cura 3.4, since it lets me easily move my models by clicking and dragging, and the control axes let me manipulate them one axis at a time, as Cura is designed to do.
This behavior has persisted through 4.0, 4.4, and 4.8. I'm running Cura on an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS desktop.
Version 3.4 works fine, but does not seem to have the Octoprint plug-in included (I,m using the Cura 3.4 appImage). If no one can advise on getting the manipulations working, can someone advise how to integrate Octoprint into 3.4?
