About This File

I had a volleyball tournament coming up, and as our team usually dresses up for them, I decided to make myself a unique bowtie to wear! And what better way than to 3D print it?! I printed this beautiful model by heytiger on Thingiverse that clips on to a shirt button. I achieved the dual color effect by using Cura's "Pause at height" plugin. Using Cura's layer view slider, I found which layer the "lip" of the bowtie ended, and paused there, parking the head in the back right corner of the printer. The plugin worked beautifully, and I swapped the black colorFabb PLA/PHA with some white at about 50% through the print. After it finished (in about 3 hours), I finished off the top with some Sharpie - classy, I know. At the end of it, I had a fantastic print that got quite a bit of compliments at the tourney! Awesome!
