  1. I am trying to print a model with a small part which is difficult to adhere to the platform (such as the Torture Test).

I don’t want to turn on “brim” in Cura because the other part of the model does not need brim to print.

Is it a simple way to add brim or support disc or whatever to a part of a model so that it can adhere to the platform better?

    Thanks for any input.

  2. After upgraded to the latest firmware version (14.07.0), UM2 occasionally displayed the captioned error message. Not sure if it is related to the new firmware or it is a hardware issue.

Cold starting the machine again and usually it can work again. But sometimes it refused to print, and the print head's temperature is lower than normal (PLA not melted) even if the front panel displayed 210C or so. It seems the temperature reading is wrong.

    Anyone has similar experience? Thanks.

  3. I am helping a friend to troubleshoot his UM2. It seems that the problem is caused by the weak extruder. I own a UM1 and the extruder of UM1 is much stronger.

One example: when a new print job is started, very often we need to push the filament into the extruder in order to let the plastic come out from the nozzle. This never happens in UM1.

We tried tighten the spring of the extruder, disassembled the extruder and cleaned the internals. It still does not work. I wonder anything I can do or adjust to make the extruder a bit stronger. Thanks.

  4. The extruder of UM1 is easy to maintain because it is easy to disassemble it and clean the internal. Also, there is a screw to adjust the pressure on the filament.

The design of UM2 extruder looks very different. Is it still easy to disassemble to clean it or adjust it? Thanks.
