  1. Almost done, will add two filament nozzles on either side with sections of bowden tube attached to them. the PVA spools currently are lasting 2 to 3 weeks on the machine. Wanted to make sure I don't have PVA/moisture problems. Can't justify $3800 x2 for material stations that control humidity. I just got the Silica gel in that changes color as it absorbs moisture. Printed with Tough PLA and laser cut the acrylic panels.

Will be doing a bit of printing with TPU and Carbon Fiber soon, so did this for that material also. with what I have read about moisture issues, kinda surprised others have not done this.

  2. So not to long ago, I was given the chance to take over an empty office space next to mine as a Printer area. I jumped on it. What have I found, since my little dorm fridge is staying in my office and there is No equipment/electronics within 8 feet beside 2 S5 printers in the newer space.....Not a single bed Leveling issue in the last month or so. Go Figure.

Many thanks.  The "official" quote I got from Ultimaker was $11637.  I'm working for a non-profit, so that kind of savings helps a lot.

    Thanks again

what I showed and linked was the upgrade for the S5. if you already have the printer. if you need to S5 also, the pro bundles start at $10,600 on Dynamism website....

Over 2 weeks ago, I asked about the S5 pro bundle pricing by filing out the form at the URL below:

    https://ultimaker.com/3d-printers/ultimaker-s5-pro-bundle

I have yet to get a price quote.  I do know Ultimaker received my form as I am getting marketing emails from Ultimaker.

    3 questions:

    1. How long does it take to get a price quote?
    2. Does anyone have an approximate cost for the pro bundle upgrade?  If it matters, I'm doing minority health research for San Diego State University.
    3. Is the pro bundle upgrade still available?

    Thanks for any replies

$4,198 for the S5 pro bundle upgrade is listed on Dynamism page:      S5 Pro upgrade from Dynamism

Temperature helps a lot for sure. The drawback is that for PLA (which is most used in combination with PVA) deformations start to occur from 35C onwards. So we decided against it.
3-4x speed increase at room temp is already great improvement.

That is why I went with a 100 watt aquarium heater that has a max temp of 88F (31.1C). I actually have it around 82F I believe. Since I run 5 lasers and air filter units in this room, I run the AC even during the winter. Water sitting in a sink or other container will end up in the low 70s for a temp....but usually comes out of the faucet colder then that.

  6. I am lucky to have a sink in the work area. I picked up a basic aquarium power head (pump) and tank heater. Makes a huge difference in the time. I created a basket with laser cut acrylic, since I have access to lasers. If I did not, I would 3d print a cage with magnets on the bottom to keep it in place. I was surprised how much the cleaning time was reduced once I added the water heater.

  7. Hi all.

Over the weekend had two print failures, something I have not had a problem with on the S5. Yesterday it skipped the 'Print Finished, remove print, confirm' step and went straight to 'ready to print' screen. today I changed to 0.04 AA and BB print cores. but just like the 0.8 print cores, the location on the print seems off compared to Cura and previous prints.

  8. I happen to have a small sink, small laundry type metal sink in our work are. I picked up a small aquarium pump from a pet store and attach it a few inches from the bottom with the suction cups it came with. Since we do not have hot water, I just recently added a aquarium submersible heater (100 watt)  that suctions to the side of the sink.

I have done 2 washes with the heater, and can see an improvement. been using the pump for over a year now. if washing smaller parts, get some sort of basket or cage to hold the parts under water.
