  1. RE: Also realise that painting on the surface does not "define" what happens inside the volume, and the inside is actually what you want to affect. I'm talking about painting one side of the object and that is reflected on the back of the object as well. Anything in between the two faces is changed. I realize that you can load any geometry in and use it as a blocker but painting would be far easier And yes I also realize what I'm suggesting is quite complicated but it would be great to be able to change the infill this easily. Another thing to think about is painting on the surface and then just specifying the depth that the change goes to. Eg. If I paint the surface of a block and specify 5mm the block changes from the surface down to 5mm and with say an irregular shape with different depths it changes down to 5mm but if it is thinner within the area specified it just uses the back of the object for that depth
  2. I have new idea that would be great in Cura By painting the area you define where on the object the change in fill goes rather than use blocks. In the bottom one the idea is to use patterns such as a stochastic pattern. Everywhere the pattern is, it goes through the object as a solid and as it vignettes away from the near solid on the blade edge the dots become smaller blending into the regular infill that way you can alter the strength, lightness and also the momentum.
