One thought that I had is considering that with some supports, when built atop an already-printed part of the print, you might want a little bit of an offset to make it so the support doesn't adhere as tightly to the part, which is very well explained in the settings expanded information. However, there does not seem to be (or I'm missing it entirely) a setting which would apply only to support material being placed on the print bed.

I find it amusing and frustrating that here we are, 6 years and countless releases later, and it STILL defaults to supports not being printed until a second layer. Seriously?
