  1. Currently I am on Cura 5.3.1. I use a few saved personal profile and a few plug-in I installed (amongst others Printjob Naming, etc..). Will this configuration remain saved with an install of 5.5.0?
  2. Thanks. I notice my filling density is 20%. The infill line distance was invisible untill I changed the profile setting and made it visible. When I change the filling density from 20% to 60% the filling line distance reduces from 6mm to 2.0mm. Is that acceptable?
  3. In the attached project file below there are two bodies. In the left body there are four pillars (diameter 8mm) with a 4,2 mm diameter hole (15mm deep). They are situated in the corners of the larger rectangular shape. After printing I notice that these pillars are brittle and not fully filled. How can Cura be made to fully fill these pillars (except for the hole of course)? Nextion_5inch_enclosure_v3.3mf
  4. Thank you for that helpful information! I downloaded and added this plugin to Cura. However, being totally novice, what do I do now to use this plugin? Erik EDIT: let me guess... open Cura, search for the plugin ('printjob'), select "install" button and restart. Plugin available under tab "Extensions", select "Custom Printjob Naming". Right?
  5. Somehow every time a slice is made and the file saved to SD card, a prefix "AV-" is used in the file name. Where can this be modified? Erik

  8. Strange, I had them printed with the open face looking upward, as in the blue picture..??
  9. I can't remember except indeed I had the object flipped over to have the open face looking upward. Or: the gcode shows as it is entered in the printer (Anycubic Vyper).

  11. Hi Slashee, the top edge, jus tlike all other outer edges, have been filleted, hence the rounded look. And the edge on top is as it was designed in Freecad, so no issue there. No, the size of the nozzle is not an issue although it is nice for you to mention that: I will include that in future Cura projects. Where do I find, or how to produce, the gcode file?

  13. No, this is not a printer issue, nor a CAD issue (Anycubic Vyper and Freecad latest version). A picture of the printed model is attached: I set the lighting so that the bottom part is visible. The issue is that the ridge on the left is printed with the correct thickness; but the bottom part to the right is not at the same height, it is depressed. In the attached stl file the bottom part can be seen being at the same thickness as the ridge. Size of the bottom part should be 3mm but is actually something like 1.5mm; the ridge though is ok. Why does this bottom part not get printed on the same height as the ridge? triangle block v2-Body.stl
  14. The stringing issue is solved. I replaced the entire hot end, heatbreak and feed tube section. This had become clogged with a bad quality of PLA, purchased from Sakata 3D filaments, a Spanish producer. Now I only use Prussa and Fiberlogy. Thanks anyway for all the suggestions in this thread!
  15. It is a Anycubic Vyper; bought just a month ago, started experimenting a few weeks ago. As for filament: I use Fibrelogy PLA. EDIT: the strange thing is that with Cura default settings I cannot remember having had these hairline strings. Maybe I should get a default reset of Cura? EDIT #2: I seem not to get email notifications from this forum on my thread; although account settings are default..
  16. Hi greg, many thanks for that valuable answer. But I see on your picture (and in my resulting slicing) that there still are strings, even very tiny. How can these be eliminated altogether, if at all?
  17. Retraction already is active, with retraction distance set at 6.5mm as well as "z-jump when retracted". Indeed light lines; when retraction not set the color changes to dark blue (heavy lines). Would retraction distance have an influence on the actual print? On Cura simulation the light blue lines do are not reduced.
  18. Thank you the both of you for that help; I will be testing this right away. Something else shows up, I don't know if a different thread is best but: how do I get rid of these blue horizontal tiny threads? They also show up on the file I posted in my opening post.
  19. In the .stl file the two tiny sloping bars are not being shown in the example after slicing. Settings: fine (0.1mm), no support structure (already included in the .stl model). And printing does not give these two bars neither. What can be done to get this right? Thanks for any reply and/or help. Erik Track_Bumper_Buda.stl
